What difference will that make? They're under .500 in the conference the last two years and that includes a year without playing Ohio State and Michigan.

Re: ESPN predicts Iowa will not finish last in 2008 Big Ten Football....

Seriously (added for effect), there are good teams in the Big 10 and Iowa is not one of them. Illinois, OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, MSU and PSU are without question finishing ahead of Iowa. Spots 7-11 are kind of a toss up.

Iowa has serious issues on offense. Christensen is in over his head unless you are playing catch in the back yard. They just lost the 2nd best receiver they had in Cleveland. DJK is good and will start. The line basically returns and that's not good. Richardson is clearly not healthy. Moeaki the same. They had problems blocking and that won't likely change based on a year of experience. (See ISU line of '06). SOme lines have it asome don't. Sometimes it's a good thing to graduate some people. Running back spot will be about the same. HOWEVER, their coaches can't seem to figure out when the run is working and when it's not, sans Michigan State game.

Defensively, it's hard to say. They clearly graduated some talented guys. Like us, the next man in isn't the same or better all the time. Contrary to popular Hawkeye delusion, they are not talented at the levels of an Ohio State. The next guy in wasn't Hodge or Greenway after all, was he?

In the end, they finish 6-6. Unfortunately, we probably do too - cough, (saw that used above and liked it) or worse. That's just one guy's opinion.

As I understand it, Richardson's career is over - injuries. Not sure about Moeaki, but I read that he will not participate in spring practice. DJK isn't that good -- he's fast, but he fumbles too much to give him the ball a lot. I see them finishing 4-8, 5-7, or 6-6 at best. Think how bad it would be if they had Ohio State and Michigan on the schedule.
