I love it and think we should give Hawk fans as much crap as possible. You KNOW they will if we have something happen.

Yes, "cheap shots" are like voting in Chicago. "Early and Often" is the way to go, at least in my book.

One thing I like about Obama is that he could redefine "cool" to a lot of clueless youth.

The Iowa Athletic program used to have the Iowa City police in their back pocket; ie Ronnie Harmon & 1/2 the wrestling team in the 80's. Things have changed in Iowa City.

Really, Obama really says absolutely nothing in his speeches, and most of his supporters don't even know why they like him. I guess because he says hope a lot?

So when can we expect Nelson & Cleveland to show up on UNI's campus. They can take the Benny Sapp career path to the NFL.

I'll tell you a story, believe me it's true
a tale you'd best hope never happens to you
old spicy mcHaggis, how he met his fate
you I can save, but for him it's too late

This is getting a little ridiculous! What makes me the most P.O.ed is that nothing will end up happening. The players will be back on the team by fall and not even miss anytime. No one holds anyone accountable, and while I agree that the coaches can't be held responsible for the actions of their players, when it becomes this many I think you have to look at their "leader". He doesn't set an example and put his footdown and say "you messed up, your done"....prime example: Bowman.

Re: Iowa Football, the tradition continues...

I have to harken back to the thread about what would happen to ISU if we had a stretch of off-field issues like this. Now its gotten even worse. Seriously, who is going to step up and put a stop to this? Will it have to be someone above the athletic director? Because apparently nothing they have done has stopped these guys. When will the regents decide that the Iowa football program has tarnished the University badly enough that they just clean house?

I would be absolutely disgustipated if this was going on with our program. I don't think I'd buy season tickets if our coaching staff and athletic department was showing such a wanton disregard for the image of the football program AND the University itself.

Pathetic.

I have changed my opinion from what I posted on the previous thread you spoke of. I thought nothing would really happen worse than what is happening at Iowa right now, but if it was ISU everyone in the state would be up in arms and we would be labeled as "out of controll", but it seems that since it is Iowa, nothing is being done. Absolutely nothing. Is it even being talked about? Most hawks fans (the casual ones) don't even know that they've had 14 arrests in under a year!

The bigger question is, how fast would everyone on this board change their tunes if this was Arnaud or another of our stars?

Would you still feel the same way?

Now that the AD is gone from UNI, it would be interesting if iowa took him or their football coach after we took their basketball coach.

We are not talking about an isolated incident, but, a series of unfortunate events.

We're talking movies now? Thought that was a different thread?

If one of our stars (or anyone for that matter) got into trouble, I would be disappointed....just like I was with Berryman, M. Taylor, or any of our athletes who have had problems.

If one of our stars (or anyone for that matter) was the 14th one who had gotten trouble since April....I would be up in arms. I would be DEMANDING answers from Chiz and JP, and I would want a public comment about what they were gonna do about it, or I would want then canned. Simple as that.

If it was one arrest over the span of a year.....whatever, they're young guys and they make mistakes. But, in Iowa's case, you have to imagine that KF and the coaching staff have drilled into these guys' heads that they cannot keep making these stupid mistakes. I mean, we're talking about 14 arrests in less than a year! I certainly would have the same harsh criticisms of our program if the same thing was going on here.
