He's not going anywhere for quite some time.
Unlike some people, reasonable fans will agree that calling for the staff's firing would be very stupid.

It's ludicrous for people to turn on a guy after in his previous 8 years he lead a very clean and respectable program.

Gee, Kirkie, time to start NOT being morally vacant? I didn't know you could "adjust" for not having morals or being able to imprint them on others.
And I don't know what "clean and respectable program" you're talking about, but I've never seen it under KF.

And I don't know what "clean and respectable program" you're talking about, but I've never seen it under KF. I think we are seeing a "one and done" type of reaction out of the staff. Cleveland and Nelson were both indefinitely suspended for things that last year would have been a "delayed reaction" until the facts came out.
Last year was bad. But, seeing as how it's more of an anomaly than the norm, and considering Iowa was pretty clean compared to many schools around the nation before last year, I'm not ready to declare a morally bankrupt program.
People seem to forget that Iowa had very few problems before last year. There was the occasional mishap, but nothing really serious. I don't think a program all of the sudden becomes void of all morals in one year. Something happened to cause that, and something will be done to bring respectability back.

didn't he just get a 1 year extension

Thank you Wes Johnson for the great 2 years you gave Iowa State. Wish you could've stayed. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.
"The one thing I really want to say is to tell the fans thank you for everything," Johnson said. "You rooted for me, you were behind me with my injury, and I really appreciated that."

And it's not like he dismissed them from the team. He suspended them indefinitely until he could "review the facts." In other words, it's that delayed reaction that you speak of.

Like the above poster stated, "suspended" is a "delayed reaction". Kind of like the "reported but unacknowledge rape investigation" that is going nowhere. Last year was bad. But, seeing as how it's more of an anomaly than the norm, and considering Iowa was pretty clean compared to many schools around the nation before last year, I'm not ready to declare a morally bankrupt program. I'll have to add that last one to the "your favorite Iowa Misbehavior Excuse thread".

What exactly is the difference between suspending football players in February vs. a "delayed reaction"?
And if there's a one-and-done policy, why did Kirk just welcome a convicted thief back to his team???

I'll try to explain this as simply as possible.
Indefinite suspension = off the team until all the facts come out. If indeed the player is guilty as charged, they likely will not be back on the team.
There is no spin, this is just how it is.

There is no spin, this is just how it is. You wrote that they were suspended whereas it would have been just a "delayed reaction" last year (20 arrests ago).
You didn't answer my question. It's February -- there are no practices and no games -- so what exactly is the difference between a suspension and a "delayed reaction"?
I wouldn't bet against them playing again, guilty or not. People said the same thing about the credit card thieves, and one of them - who pled guilty by the way - was just welcomed back to the team.
