They are hammering Ferents and the eiu program. I have to confess I am amazed at the number of hok fans calling in and making comments that agree with Marty and Miller. It's been a tough winter in Eastern Iowa, but it sounds like the ice is starting to melt in iowa city

Now back to the subject at hand.

The 3 Hawk fans I talked to today still think Kirk walks on water. They can't believe this is happening in his program. There must be a conspiracy in the Iowa City police department!! "Kirk is a such class act and runs such a strict program. How can this happen?" Most are pretty blind. I'll be curious to see if the media does start to pile on. I'm sure the Gazette and AM 600 will be willing to go down with the ship. As I said in a post yesterday when it comes to the Eastern Iowa media and the almighty Kirk. They tiptoe around him like a bunch if sophomore high schoolers stealing glances at the homecoming queen hopeing she smiles back at them.

The guy who called in and said that he removed labels from his prescriptions cracked me up. I have like 10 prescription bottles in my closet, all with the labels still on them (some are expired by a long time) the expired ones, I remove the labels and flush them (you are supposed to put them in kitty litter these days I hear). I don't want to take the time to remove the labels from the old ones to make sure no one gets the info off of them. But, I guess people in IA City take the label off when they get the prescription so they save time!?! :)

I enjoyed listening to the homer from the CR-gazette who said he wouldnt associate the alcohol issues along with the drug issues. I'd gander a bet that a large percentage of kids who dont finish college, alcohol is a factor. I was surprised that this guy sounded in such disbelief about the latest arrests. Marty was talking about papers across the state jumping to get print about this story and this guy sounded liked he truly, truly pained him to write about the events.

I take the labels off my perscriptions right in the store. I like to live on the wild side! Then when I get them home, I toss them all in a bag and just guess as to which one to take!

I had to chuckle listening to Marty & Miller on my way home from work tonight. They were talking about Drake and their dream season they are having. Some guy calls in and says that Drakes play in the upcoming tournament might have gotten easier because one of the good players for Bradley(I think) was not going to play because over the weekend he beat up his girlfriend or something like that. The caller said he heard they kicked the kid off the team and Marty says "Well, he could go play football for the Hawkeyes."

I know there are M&M fans on this board but I still can't listen to them even though they are beating on the Hawks.
I think it is the whiny tone and the lack of substance to most of the info. Just my opinion.

Was listening at the same time (I called a bit later too) and that was damn funny. Literally burst out laughing. I'm not dancing in the Hawk misery - but Marty was just so quick and nonchalant with that it was hilarious.

Were you the one who was talking about how you have been on the Drake bandwagon since early in the season and have won quite a few credits betting on them on Cyclone Fanatic, all except when they got beat by Bradley this last week?

Did Jon mention anything on his show??? Just wondering if maybe they mentioned that on the Hawkeye Minute.... Where is the real reporting on this story by the Hawkeyes exclusive sports station. KXNO
