Yep, time to call in the Psychologist. Let's blame this on the unrest inthe world, or how about Iraq, or maybe it's all George Bush's fault. Give me a break.
Psychoanalysis is more addictive than cocaine, and more expensive, as well. THE problem with the psych field is that the "treatment" of psychoanalysis is probably worse than the illness, in a significant number of cases.

(I'll get around to finding links and studies, later. I gotta run, but thought I'd throw that "hand grenade" out there, first.)

Yeah, they need help with those confusing issues freshmen face, like:

"How do I find this building where my class is?"

"Should I go ask my Professor a question outside of his office hours?"

"Am I supposed to steal stuff and smoke pot?"

I have never seen in print a more succinct description of what is wrong with the "education model" of deterring criminal activity.

Dude, you don't need a teacher or psychologist to tell you that stealing and using drugs is bad or stupid.

You need a frying pan upside the head, if you think that kind of stuff is okay.

Maybe we could have the taxpayers pay for a study, so we know whether it would help more to tell them that drugs are bad.

Oh, wait, that's us, and we do that already!

Do we fire the teachers, then?

Just let me fire somebody!

What do you mean?????? This could work out great in the EIU freshman's life. These lovely psychologists could help them through transition to a whole new type of life and keep them from caving to peer pressure from other not so good-minded contacts they might run into.....This can only be good for 19yr old kids.

And best yet, the stupid psychologists could convince them that their parents really abused them and sexually assaulted them and the police, the doctors, the teachers, church leaders all failed to see how it was affecting him and result in him being able to sue the hell off each of them and have more bling then that tiny little circular table could hold. Poor poor kid

A whole lot of sarcasm here, but totally agree with you ketelmeister....
