I looked into a few frats when I was a senior in high school. A few friends of mine were freshmen at ISU at the time. I visited one weekend and remember making a comment to one of them that I was having a good time and thought it was a pretty cool frat. You would've thought I killed someone. He grabbed me and said, "dude, don't ever say frat in this house again. You wouldn't call your country a c*nt would you?"
That right there pretty much told me everything I needed to know about frats. Didn't join and haven't looked back since.

But, all of my experiences with frats have been no fun at all.
They were even frats that some of my friends were a part of.
I digress.
Back on subject.
That sucks for UNI, it sounds like the players involved were pretty decent at football.

That right there pretty much told me everything I needed to know about frats. Didn't join and haven't looked back since. No doubt. I had some friends in fraternities at the time, and when I heard that argument, I had to laugh. Made me glad I was a dorm rat.
I did call my dormitory a "dorm." And I still call fraternities, "frats."
Mainly because it sounds so comical as it rolls off the tongue.

That sounds like a stereotype, when was the last time you stepped foot in a fraternity or talked to a group of its members? Coach Chizik found it interesting enough to stop by one two weeks ago and eat dinner with the members. Yes there are bad ones and there are good ones, dont pass judgement on all of them because of some movie you've seen or secondhand stories. Fraternities do a service for the community, especially in Ames and by furthering those stereotypes, you only show how ignorant you really are. I would never use packer and fraternity together.

And what makes me more confused is alumni posting on the website talking down on the Ames community. Whether you like it or not Iowa State University has a greek community. Who cares where you lived when you went to school, everyone cheers for the cyclones. So what do people think about the UNI football players?

About UNI? I am shocked more players are not in trouble there. There are so many cast offs from other programs, I guess we should be giving Farley props for keeping them under control.

I remember once, while in Ames, being asked if I was Greek . I said yes, but later realized he actually meant if I was in a fraternity.

I never thought about that before, he has done a pretty good job with guys that didn't fit in at their first school. Maybe the transfers he gets are usually smart enough to realized they are on their final straw and decide to behave. What's more confusing is how this thread got so off topic.

That is funny because I have heard this same thing said many times before. Interesting. I haven't heard it from other Greeks much. It is an interesting question where it began.
