Drake is a 5 seed.

Not really surprised, but could have seen them as a 4.

Re: Drake is a 5 seed.

I am a little disappointed in a 5 seed. I really thought they would be a four. Mostly, I'm disappointed that they are in Tampa. It will be difficult for anyone to travel with the team down there. Denver was possible, but the cost to go to Tampa is huge. No matter what it will be exciting. The second round game with UConn could feature a 7-3 UConn kid. How would Drake match up with that? Yikes.

You are so right about Tampa, especially being the fact that it's spring break

Re: Drake is a 5 seed.

Anyone suppose they're a little nervous about being a 5 seed with the 5-12 upset history working against them? Western KY looks like a team capable of playing spoiler with an upset of Gonzaga, a win over NU and a close game with Tenn early in the season.

George Mason, Villanova and Temple are the other 12 seeds. Plenty of opportunity to see multiple 5 seeds catching a plane home early this year.

I'm anxious to see what Drake is really made of!

Re: Drake is a 5 seed.

There isn't much difference between a 4 and a 5 so I think Drake doesn't really have anything to complain about. I hope they win their first round game (as does UCONN)...I would love to see that Drake/UCONN matchup.

I think they matchup with UConn better than any of the other 4 seeds. Playing Vandy would have been like a mirror image, just with better talent. UConn is going to try and run with them and could get lured into a shooting contest, advantage Drake. How will they matchup with the big guy, well Bucky will probably hit a couple wide open threes then he will have to come out and guard him. After that they will back cut him to death. He really isn't an offensive threat for the Huskies.

Re: Drake is a 5 seed.

You could argue the seed was about right. However, they got screwed having to go to Florida. IMO, they deserved the opportunity to play in the midwest especially since they got the 5. I mean a dream season by Drake and a lot of their fans won't be able to go see the game. Ridiculous.

Re: Drake is a 5 seed.

There is a difference in first round opponents in the first round from the 4 to 5 seed. If I was Drake I would rather play all four 13 seeds than, Western Kentucky. True if UCONN and Drake were flip flopped they still meet in the second round, but I would rather play San Diego in that round.

Re: Drake is a 5 seed.

They had to get a little scared when they saw Butler get a 7, they really got screwed... I think the committee was more friendly to the big schools this year than the past.

Western Kentucky is definately a scary team, very athletic, not great shooters. Look for Drake to pack in that zone. WKU played Tennessee tough, almost beat Gonzaga at Gonzaga and played Southern Ill. tough. Should be a good 5-12 game.

I got a kick out of seeing them put in Tampa. I'm anxious to see all these "legions" of Drake fans traveling down to Florida to watch them play. Oh wait, that only happens with teams who have true fans and a fan base that doesn't consist of 500,000 bandwagoners. I have nothing against their team, just the "fans". Please Hilltoppers, beat Drake this week and free us of another round of "touchy-feely" stories about Eminecker.

While Drake is a good story, I don't even listen to more than 10 minutes of KXNO anymore. Its the same Drake talk day after day.

On the other hand WKU does travel well to the NCAA...they will be in Tampa along with their mascot "Big Red".

In their defense it is the ONLY local story going right now...

I don't blame them for talking about it. If you don't like it don't listen to it. At least we have 1700 to listen to now.

Re: Drake is a 5 seed.

I'd venture to guess Keno would gladly take a 6 seed and play in Denver or Omaha.

Getting in and out of Tampa this weekend is going to be very spendy and one helluva mess.
