Re: Bowman transferring from iowa.

I guess that means that from now on the home games that used to be at Queenik are now going to be played in Fort Madison or Anamossa(sp)?

Way to get the paddle out Kirky boy. Them boys have got to be shaking in the cleets tonight.......?

I prefer the belief that Ferentz is just done putting up with this stuff. Of course, it's irrelevant, because as long as these issues are done, I'm happy.

They hired a new staff member to help the players adjust and with other issues. Kind of like Chizik's chaplin, but its Iowa City so regilion is not allowed.

I'm not an expert on sports, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

Re: Bowman transferring from iowa.

I heard today from a reliable source that Iowa will become the only Division 1 football team where the entire coaching staff and the trainers will have those cool chains hanging from their belt loop to their wallets just like the hells angels.

What's next? ZZTop beards??????

I'm sure I heard on KXNO today they hired someone who's job is to help the players with problems. I know KF talked about a new thing they are starting for freshmen to make the trans to college easier.

I think this part is true. Iowa really does a poor job of helping any freshman make the transition to college. You get a folder of information, and are sent on your way. With the city and school so closely related, and with the bars 19+, that just spells trouble.

Yeah, you need to get someone who will help them not get caught, or to talk their way out of getting charged, when they are being their criminal thug felon selves.

Evidently there is some kind of code they need to enter when being booked that gets them off, scot-free, or at least gets charges delayed until the day after their eligibility expires.

Remain calm Hawk fans I'm sure Kirk put out his standard plan- " We will look at the film..and then we will clean things up a bit."

I love his quote from yesterday about the new player development positon being "proactive" versus "reactive". It would appear to me if he did this 2 years ago it would have been "proactive". Since he is doing it soon after the Black and Gold crime spree it would appear to me to be "reactive".

Funny--that's kf's attitude also....as long as the issues are done, he's happy. What's done is done. Now he can go cash his check.

There weren't any issues 2 years ago.... I suppose he probably could have used his crystal ball to kick the future trouble makers off the team.

You're right. If I was him, I'd be angry that these issues appeared to be done, and I'd never cash a check again to show my displeasure.

Iowa just needs to follow the philosophy my HS wrestling coach told us. If you are going to to "stuff", be smart enough to not get caught. That would have fixed all their problems.
