Re: Cotlar and Drake

We'll probably get a lot of Barnstormer talk now as Cotlar will be their play by play guy. I get sick of the Drake talk too, but it was the only basketball program to have any success this year, so I can understand some of it. But Keno keeps winning these coach of the year awards to help keep Drake in the news. Why isn't the Davidson coach winning some of these awards? Didn't they win 25 straight and come within a whisker of the final 4? Keno hasn't even won an NCAA game yet so I don't get why he's being so hyped. I will say Cotlar has a lot of good interviews both on the local and national level, and that's why I listen to the show.

Without looking it up, I'll venture a guess and say that Davidson's last winning records was probably...last year. Their prior winning record was probably in 2005-2006 season. Keno has done much more with much less. Former walk-ons playing key roles. Guard Emenecker (sp) with more majors than 3-pointers made this season. Picked 9th in a 10 team league, becomes the first (ever...or at least in a long time) to win regular season and tournament championship in MVC. I think Dr. Tom's son has got it going on.

Davidson is always good... A better question would be how have they kept their coach this long...

Re: Cotlar and Drake

I get your point about Davidson having a better program recently. Jmo that the national coach of the year should do something at the national level, especially in the NCAA tournament. Davidson did a lot in the NCAA, knocking off higher seeds and nearly beating the number 1 seed to get to the final 4. Drake did nothing in the tournament, getting knocked off by a much lower seed in the first round. I still don't think Drake finishes in the top half in the major conferences. Davidson proved they can play with anybody in the country.
