I'm sure the Iowa Athletic Dept hopes this gets settled out of court on not at a trial.

Cleveland's attorney files discovery motion
The attorney for former University of Iowa football player James Cleveland filed a discovery motion in Cleveland's drug charges case Friday at the Johnson County Courthouse. The motion asks the attorney for the state to permit the defendant to inspect, copy or photograph materials including written or recorded defendant statements, items seized by the state in connection with the alleged crime, a copy of the defendant's prior criminal record and any breath, blood or other body samples taken at the time of his arrest or analysis of any such samples. On Feb. 23, police arrested Cleveland, 19, after 21 doses of oxycodone and 24 doses of carisoprodol were found in his desk in Hillcrest Residence Hall. The first prescription drug is a painkiller; the second is a muscle relaxer. Cleveland allegedly admitted that the carisoprodol pills were his, according to police. According to police, neither of the drugs had a label, and officers could not find a prescription for either drug. He is being represented by former Hawkeye football player and Cedar Rapids lawyer Matthew Petrzelka.
