Stoops is gone after this year if they don't win. Didn't they beat ASU in the final game of the season, basically saving his job after last season?

Kinda similar to Walden.

Do you think SH has a Cyclone Fanatic beeper that goes off everytime there is a post made in regards to the Hawks?

Sadly, that beeper would go off quite a bit

"I just back into town and I hear all this stuff, and Buster Olney is making my team up now and [Genske] wants to tell me who is going to pitch here. No one is going to tell us who to put on our team and no one on ESPN is going to tell us who should pitch for my team. " -Gardy

That's a very realistic appraisal of the situation, IMO. I don't think, if Iowa loses 5 Big 10 games in a row, that they are going to pull out Ws against Purdue and Minnesota (who just had a HUGE class full of quality Jucos, and will have had a year to gel, and would love to go out of the season on a winning note) though. I mean Iowa couldn't get it done against Western Freaking Michigan with a bowl game on the line.

I think there's no doubt if he goes 6-6 or worse, that he's on the hot seat for sure next year. Fewer than 6 wins, and I think Iowa seriously looks at getting out of the contract. Will they do it? I find it unlikely, especially with a spineless AD at the helm, but it's certainly a possibility.

Then the question would become, who are they going to get that's any better? And would ISU hire him as the o-line coach?

After what he did last season, there is no way anyone is going to push coach Mac out of that job

I'll gladly take Coach McFarland over Captain Kirk as o-line coach. The Iowa offensive line has, well, digressed...

Ouch...That is a little surprising to me. His team showed vast improvement throughout the year and he is a first year coach after all.

I can't believe they ranked all of D-I. There aren't 24 coaches on the 'hot seat' in any given year. That would be 20% of all coaches.

That being said, we all expect improvement out of him this year, and if he doesn't provide SOME level (even just one win), I think there will be a lot of disgruntled fans, especially considering expectations. Who would have thought Mac was on the hotseat going into his last season? But Chiz is in a sort of similar situation this year, at least in terms of needing to deliver on reasonable expectations.

I don't think there is ANY way he's gone this year, or even next, regardless of what happens, but he's certainly got some work to do.

Amazing to see Gary Pinkel's name at the bottom of that list. He had to be near the top going into last season.
