It was awesome going to Kinnick in 2002, too, if you recall.

Ahem, note the smiley face. 'Twas a joke. It's rare to find a BCS team that schedules a tough OOC.

It was fun going to the Orange Bowl too!

ISU Student - Iowa fan. Best of both worlds.

Having to play Iowa every year really limits who we get to see the Clones match-up against, and vice versa. In 2002 it was awesome to go to Arrowhead and see us play against Florida State. I would like to see a home and home with some other teams once in a while. I just get tired of seeing Iowa and UNI on the schedule all the time.
Agreed. Like I said above, I'd like to see a Nebraska vs. Iowa series but it's pretty unlikely that Iowa will schedule 2 Big 12 opponents. Nebraska vs. Iowa just makes too much sense, they could play for a golden ear of corn or something.

It'd be nice to see ISU take on someone from the Big 10. Say...Minnesota, Illinois or Wisconsin.

Dude, it's never awesome going to Kinnick, but I know what you mean. I had way more fun at Arrowhead that year, and let's face it, 1 win over FSU would have carried a lot more weight nationally than our 5th straight win over Iowa. Yes, I know, Iowa was probably a better team than FSU in 2002, but it still would have been a win over a "name" team.

I'd still rather see us spread it around a little to other BCS conferences. I'm not saying we go after USC or Florida, but I think it'd be fun to see us play teams like Wash St, Arizona, Ole Miss, Vandy, Georgia Tech, UNC, etc. We'd get to see what it would be like to play other conferences and get to travel to some other destinations once in a while. I know a lot of people had fun travelling to New York for the Army game a few years back. Anyway, just my opinion on the matter.

I don't know why people say things like this. It might be fun to discuss possibilities on message boards, but the series is not going away. It just isn't, and in fact they are finishing up contract talks regarding the series and JP has said this.

I didn't know Fort Madison had a website.

What do Cyclone fans and Hawkeye fans have in common?
Neither one ever attended the University of Iowa.

And how much fun was it really at the Orange Bowl, getting wiped out by USC?

I'm glad they were able to write that and reiterate things that have been said roughly 9 bazillion times.

Donations to ISU athletics are no where nere as much as EIU. How else do you expect us to make money? Are we going to have the football players going around selling chocalate bars so they can buy new j's?

We will never catch EIU in fund raising. With BluRay out now, the black market on DVDs is hot as ever.

I thought ISU fans are convinced that Iowa wouldn't have jumped OSU? :D

That was a fun year for Iowa and ISU. I hope we can have more of those soon.

Yeah, those grapes were probably sour, anyway, said the Fox, errr, I mean Hawk.

Mizzou will just cancel on you guys again anyway.

Perhaps, but some people in the media -- like Mark May and Trev Alberts -- would have run over their own son if it meant voting Iowa into the Top 2 to be in the championship game. There was plenty of love for Ferentz and Banks, I don't doubt for a moment that had you not lost to ISU, you would have had a great chance to get into the championship.
