Three thoughts:
1.Will this topic never die? This practice will become very common in the collge landscape. Pollard is just on the front end of the curve.
2.I wish Hawk fans would realize that "This ain't about you!!". JP is training the ISU fan base to buy season tickets versus cherry picking single games. Sounds like revenue maximization to me.
3.If EIU has another medicore season it will be interesting to see what Barta has to pull out of his hat to get fans in the seats. I remember around th eend of the Hayden Fry era Bowlsby was making excuses for poor attendance by sayin gthat th efan base was "getting too old" to come to games. Mark my words.....EIU will face similar issues in the future. |

Iowa fan's bought the entire allotment of tickets priced at $90 each. It would have been folly had Pollard not priced them so high. It was a good business decision to maximize profits.

Also, why are Iowa fans always so obessed with what ISU is doing? |

If Iowa fans want to think of themselves as having a big time program they need to understand there are bad things that come with that too. |

What fire is Pollard playing with? He's increased ticket sales and total revenue. Iowa fans bought the entire allotment of tickets. If Iowa fans were so upset about ticket prices, they didn't have to buy them. No one held a gun to their head and forced them to buy them.
How does Barta get a last laugh if the series isn't continued? Iowa isn't the biggest draw for Iowa State when they play in Ames. Nebraska and UNI have both drawn bigger crowds.
Wanting to start a series rivalry with another school is nice to say but hard to do. Iowa has no history playing Nebraska or Missouri.

The common guy has NO access to individual game tickets for the ISU-Iowa game no matter what the price. They go to the Highest Priority Season ticket holders in both cases when either team is the visitor. So it is irrelevant. Just another thing for the trailer dwelling Squawk fans to complain about. |

I would love for the Iowa AD to TRY and cancel the series... only making the Iowa (too much time on their hands) Legislature pass the law requiring Iowa to suit up. It would only bolster the fact, yes fact, Iowa can't stand a rivalry when it IS a rivalry.
Barta tried to run from ISU, but lost.
-keep.

Iowa buys them at our price and sells them to their 'fan' base. If the Iowa 'fan' base didn't pony up, the UofI would be out $$.
