I honestly don't care if you call me arrogant, I expect the Hawkeyes to win against average teams and I expect them to put up a hell of a fight against better ones...hopefully pulling a few upsets in the process.

This argument, no offense, has gotten really stupid. You are one of the only fans I've heard of that does not expect to win any games. If you honestly go into a season not expecting to win games, you must be happy with the outcome every year, right? Because each and every season, the team meets your expectations.

ISU Student - Iowa fan. Best of both worlds.

How can the team meet my expectations if it doesn't show improvement and keeps me entertained?

I'll say this again. Expecting a win and wanting a win are completely different. I want to win every game, but I don't expect to win games.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system.

Not to beat a dead horse but you two hawk fans have to understand what we're saying here, we hear the same thing out of you and your fan base before every year. Big Ten champs and a outside shot at a national championship. Maybe it's time you take a look back at the not so far in the past and wake up and take a good hard look at reality.

Sorry, I am with southernhawk. I always have expectation. I expect Iowa State to win 5 games and will be disappointed if they don't. I won't truly be happy unless it is more than 5 but that would exceed expectations.

Over the past 3 years, Iowa has made it perfectly clear they will lose to teams that are worse than them...Indiana, Northwestern, Western Michigan, etc. so I wouldn't put those in the win column just yet. On the other hand, they have shown they can beat teams they shouldn't...see Ill. year.

If Iowa fans want to predict they will win 8-10 games this year, go right ahead. But you are going to get laughed at for those types of predictions. This is pretty much the same team that lost to a horrible MAC team with a trip to the Insight Bowl on the line.

Too each his own. There's no right or wrong way to be a fan.

When have either of us said anything about a Big Ten/National Championship? Ohio State brings back everybody from a NCG, they're definitely the odds on favorite to win the Big Ten.

We hear it every year. 10-2, 9-3, Big Ten champion. I actually thought that after last year you might have some humility but I was way overestimating your fan base, to think that reality might actually have kicked in.

You do realize we share this state with Hawkeyes, right?

I actually considered adding one exception.

Unless you're a fan of Iowa then you're in the wrong.

Hmm...you must have missed it the first time, I'll say again:

Northwestern - W
@ MSU - L (Kirk has never won at E. Lansing and they'll be hungry for revenge after last season.)
@ Indiana - W (No Hardy and no Lewis = Indiana sucks again.)
Wisconsin - W (almost beat them at Camp Randall, Iowa wins at Kinnick.)
@ Illinois - L (The Zooker will have these guys pumped for pay-back and they're loaded with talent.)
PSU - L (This one could go either way, I'll say loss for now.)
Purdue - W (Dorian Bryant and Adam Shada are both gone, this bodes well for the Hawks.)
@ Minnesota - W (Brewster has them on the upswing, but for at least 2 more years...they're still the Goophers.)

8-4...could be 7-5, could be 9-3. Anything under 7-5 and heads are going to start rolling.
Iowa will not be that good this year. I bolded the 2 games I think you have wrong. That leaves Iowa with a 6-6 record. Additionally, I think ISU and @Indiana are both toss-ups, and you just never know about Iowa vs. Northwestern. I give Iowa a range of 3-9 at worst to 6-6 at best. Get those pins ready for those rolling heads.
