Winning, of course, is the desired outcome, but I don't go to a game expecting a win. I honestly don't care if you call me arrogant, I expect the Hawkeyes to win against average teams and I expect them to put up a hell of a fight against better ones...hopefully pulling a few upsets in the process.

You are one of the only fans I've heard of that does not expect to win any games. If you honestly go into a season not expecting to win games, you must be happy with the outcome every year, right? Because each and every season, the team meets your expectations.

I'll say this again. Expecting a win and wanting a win are completely different. I want to win every game, but I don't expect to win games.

Not to beat a dead horse but you two hawk fans have to understand what we're saying here, we hear the same thing out of you and your fan base before every year. Big Ten champs and a outside shot at a national championship. Maybe it's time you take a look back at the not so far in the past and wake up and take a good hard look at reality.

I'll say this again. Expecting a win and wanting a win are completely different. I want to win every game, but I don't expect to win games. Sorry, I am with southernhawk. I always have expectation. I expect Iowa State to win 5 games and will be disappointed if they don't. I won't truly be happy unless it is more than 5 but that would exceed expectations.

On the other hand, they have shown they can beat teams they shouldn't...see Ill. year.
If Iowa fans want to predict they will win 8-10 games this year, go right ahead. But you are going to get laughed at for those types of predictions. This is pretty much the same team that lost to a horrible MAC team with a trip to the Insight Bowl on the line.

When have either of us said anything about a Big Ten/National Championship? Ohio State brings back everybody from a NCG, they're definitely the odds on favorite to win the Big Ten.

I actually thought that after last year you might have some humility but I was way overestimating your fan base, to think that reality might actually have kicked in.

And SoHawk just proved my point I actually considered adding one exception.
Unless you're a fan of Iowa then you're in the wrong. |

8-4...could be 7-5, could be 9-3. Anything under 7-5 and heads are going to start rolling. Iowa will not be that good this year. I bolded the 2 games I think you have wrong. That leaves Iowa with a 6-6 record. Additionally, I think ISU and @Indiana are both toss-ups, and you just never know about Iowa vs. Northwestern. I give Iowa a range of 3-9 at worst to 6-6 at best. Get those pins ready for those rolling heads.
