Lots of in-state talent this year

Recently announced 4-star prospects:

Keenan Davis
David Barrent
Brandon Wegher

Hopefully they all stay in-state.

Football-

Do we have a legitimate chance with any? I have heard Wehger has some big offers out of state and we most likely won't see him in Cardinal and Gold.

The others are probably Iowa leans?

Anybody know?

We haven't even offered Davis, he will go to Iowa or out of state.

I believe we have a decent chance at Barrent, wants to major in engineering, sister goes to ISU, and we have a strong pipeline at Valley.

Hopefully they don't as none seem to be destined for Ames.

Does Chizik focus a lot on instate talent or does he seem to focus more on the south where he is from?

CycloneReport.com - Rivals250 welcomes new names

looks like barrent came in at #101 in america, and if you scroll halfway down, it says wegher just missed the top 250. not bad.

Wegher's offer list is downright ridiculous. Sounds like he might be bound for Oklahoma if they offer.

Wegher not in the top 250 is ridiculous and pretty odd considering the offers he is receiving

IMO, he is a better prospect than Barrent, and should be in the top 100, especially considering his school list, which is downright ridiculous.

Re: Lots of in-state talent this year

How have we not offered any of these guys?! Especially Barrent? A top 100 kid 30 minutes down the road and we don't even offer? I'm really puzzled by this.

Re: Lots of in-state talent this year

i just saw on espn.com that barrent is only a 40 rating, which is usually reserved for guys with a 2 star ranking on rivals/scout

No, a 40 merely means they haven't been evaluated yet. A 2 star is equivalent to about a 65-72 on ESPM
