There's a lot being talked about concerning Tony Freeman possibly transferring.

Anyone (JonDMiller?) know anything?

Apparently, he wasn't named captain for the upcoming year, which is a bit odd for a 4-year guy on a thin team.

I've heard Lickliter told all of his players get with the system or get out, and some players decided to get out. It could just be a rumor though.

maybe he will transfer somewhere that he would be named a captain and not have to sit out a year-like a 1aa team?

Apparently, he "refuted" the rumors by saying he "should be back" next year.

I don't think Lick is encouraging anybody to leave the program. I do think that he is encouraging them to buy into his system. If he's doing it forcefully, more power to him.

I heard a small part of Jon Millers show and he was talking about all the stuff on his website pertaining to that rumour. I didn't listen long enough to find out if he confirmed or refuted it but he talked about it today on his show.

He started out the talk on Freeman leaving by saying both EIU and ISU had some rumours flying around campus and he was going to talk about them today on his show, then went on about Freeman and I never heard what the story was on ISU. Anyone else hear the rest?

I heard he told his players to get with the system or they'd be riding the bench. I HIGHLY doubt Coach Lick would flat out tell a player to leave.

I agree. But coaches aren't going to change their systems and philosophies to suit the players they have. They'll encourage the players to try their hardest to adapt and learn the new system, and in the meantime recruit players who will fit their system with a faster, more natural learning curve.

Similar to how Drenard Williams left our football team because of differences with Chizik's staff and their policies and philosophies about the game of football, among other players who have transferred at ISU due to various coaching changes.

He is probably one of the biggest flops in EIU's recent history. He was supposed to be so great and last year was probably his worst.
