Was Iowa self sufficient when they expanded there stadium to 70,000?

In my section in the end zone, there were plenty of Iowa fans. The hot four-some (female and too young for me) Iowa fans sitting behind me were mad that Iowa hadn't put the game away by half-time and went out to "tail-gate" their anger away. I found it amusing that there was a traumatized (seemingly by the loss) female on the field after the win looking confused. I will give credit where credit is due, though, there were some Iowa fans that high fived us and congratulated us on the ISU win. Who would have thunk it possible.

I am letting you know that I am formally making a request to the University of Iowa in order to ask them to please refund your tuition. I do this because you obviously are in need of grammar school which costs money you probably do not have. Why do Iowa fans hate Jamie Pollard? Because he polarized the rivalry even more than it all ready was.

I'm not so sure about that. A co-worker of mine left the Ames/Des Moines area for the Twin Cities in the early 80s. When he and his family moved back to Ames 5-6 years ago (pre-Pollard), he noticed a complete difference in attitudes. In his words, it went from a "friendly" rivalry to a much less "friendly" rivalry. <kidding>Blame Hayden Fry. A (losing) Rose Bowl bid created a holier than thou mentality in (some) Iowa fans. </kidding>

It's probably a good thing that my family (Iowa fans) don't visit CF, as I might not be invited back to any more family get togethers.

Money from the general fund goes to the AD budget, not construction. Your tax money is NOT going to this project. JP will finance it with donations and debt, which he will pay with increased revenues. The reason why they have to hire a consultant to verify before getting approval is that the BOR needs to know ISU can pay for the project.

B-b-but Iowa's athletic department is self-sustaining NOW.

And that Jamie Pollard is just a big meanie. He should just donate tickets to Iowa so their fans can go to the Iowa/ISU game for free. For that matter, he shouldn't sell any tickets to any school we play because we wouldn't want anyone else "paying" for our renovations. And then he should bring cupcakes to all the Iowa fans that couldn't get into the game last year because of his "unfair" policy. How dare he think about the interest of ISU and ONLY ISU. You would think that's his job or something.

That being said, I think you're right on. It's amazing how many Iowa fans can't understand what JP was ACTUALLY doing last week. Instead, they jump to conclusions and make things up. It's easier that way I guess.

so again, who is jelous? (I'll come back in about 2 days to read the funny responses to this and how we are jelous and how iowa fans are jerks and how iowa fans this and that, and then I will say something, and the process will start all over again)

The content of your post didn't warrant response. Stating that Iowa is paying for ISU's stadium is assenine. Say something half way intelligent and I might respond.
