I can't say I want the Hawks to lose EVERY game (as much fun as it is to see them squeal), because then beating them is no big deal, but I certainly like to see us beat them consistently

As for the Pollard hatred they're probally still just mad about the billboard Pollard put up after 2005

I had that beat. I can't name one other person in my graduating class that was a Cyclone fan.

Me neither.....besides my brother, 2 teachers, and 1 other kid-who really isn't that big of a fan either.

Honestly, I don't hate Pollard. I think some of the things he is doing... well, I don't know if it'll benefit ISU in the long run or not. If it does, that's great - I honestly would like to see the state of Iowa have 2 powerful programs in multiple sports.

The only things that get me is the Upper Deck at this time and the season tickets + $95.00 for the Iowa game. But, oh well.

And lastly - Pollfraud is a bad nickname?

Uhhhhh.... EIU?

Notice how there aren't any threads over here about how we hate Barta or whoever their AD is?

Believe it or not, I'm ranked first in my class with a 4.0. Now what does that tell you?

(I also skipped a grade....evidence that Cyclone fans are smarter than Hawks.)

Cyclone fans love Pollard and you have to give him a lot of credit for being agressive in some things compared to the previous AD's and giving fans hope. BUT, if you are on the outside looking in you see a guy that has made some big decisions but the FB team is not any better, the men's BB team is not any better, the renovations are mostly just plans right now, and Pollard also stuck it to Iowa with the $90 tickets and the billboard. That's a lot of stuff with little improvement in actual wins in the 2 major sports so far. Granted I do think both programs are going to show improvement this coming season but the big vision of putting ISU on the map as a consistent winner is still a ways off.

So I can see why other school's fans may hate him and it doesn't bother me. I'd rather have Pollard over Barta 10 times out of 10. I'm patient enough too that I see Jamie's vision and know it won't happen overnight but a couple years from now if the FB program still is mediocre and the basketball team is not making the NCAA tourney you will see ISU fans questioning Jamie's decisions.

You do have a point there and I'll actually give you some rep for that if it would let me. Never quite got that one either. I prefer Squawkeyes, Chokeyes, or Suckeyes as better names.

I live in Eastern Iowa and I think Hawk fans are scared to death that JP will succeed. Great point earlier in thread that none of them ever mentioned Bruce VV when he was in charge.

I think Barta was hired because he was not going to upset God ( aka Kirk Ferentz). I'm guessing he used up all his luck with the Alford situation. Alford left under his own accord and then Barta lands his 7th or 8th coaching choice and 2 days later he is named national coach of the year. Bolsby had a lot of projects and fundraising in the pipeline. So far Barta has not had to make any tough decisions. The jury is still out in my books.

I think they wanted to explore the option of an upper deck due to the extremely high cost of adding it to the endzone once it is complete, as well as, the fact that the south endzone expansion would not increase capacity of the stadium without the addition and might restrict it more since you can really pack people in on the hills.

Nebraska fans will be feeling the same way about ticket prices this season. Pollard is trying to sell more and more tickets, and they are the tickets in highest demand. It isn't anything personal, just business.

Oh...come on, I always thought Eastern Iowa University was rather catchy.

The only reason I have a problem with Pollfraud is that it's unoriginal. I thought Alfraud was funny, but now adding "fraud" to the end of someone's name is old. Pollardini...now that was funny!
