Why do Iowa Fans Hate Jamie Pollard so much?

Easy for you to say since Iowa has a stadium that seats 70,000. Which was expanded to that size when Iowa was getting funds from the state.

Yes they did but I am trying to find the info right now if Iowa was filling Kinnick before the expansions. (going to be hard to get the records for the 56, 83, and 90 seasons, but I will try) If they were not drawing very large crowds and filling the stadium then I will eat my words.

FYI, the capacity for JTS actual seats is 46k, they add 10k after that for the grass. If we move forward and do not add an upper deck (people need to remember it is still only an option not a certainty) and just bowl in the south end zone it will not increase the overall capacity at all. You also need to realize that when JTS fills up it is absolutly apparent that it seats more than it can service. Horrendously long concession lines and having to bring in porta-potties to accomadate the amount of fans that are there is unnacceptable for a big 12 team. It is apparent that JTS needs to be renovated to fully support a full crowd (also needs to be renovated for the mere fact that it is one of the worst stadiums in the big 12). If we do not do it now we will be left behind in the dust and will not be able to even attempt something like this for a very long time. Our competition is not going to get any worse and we need to improve as they do. This is a case of necessity and not of wanting.

edit: Really didn't have much to do with your quote but I've been wanting to say that for awhile.

Like a poster before me intimated, we routinely sell 46,000 tickets, and the "expansion" isn't really resulting in more admission, it's just turning grass into "seats". Which will result in more income, imo.

what does my name have to do with this site? if opies was available when I created my monikor 15 years ago I would have taken that, it wasn't so I had to add the numbers. 666 being something easy to remember and it scares the believers because they think the devil has some sort of phone he answers.

Bruce is an ISU alumn who worked with Hayden Fry, Bill Snyder, Bob Stoops and Mac before coming to ISU. He was hired by Bump Elliott and Hayden Fry and highly thought of at Iowa. That still did not prevent us from beating Iowa 5 out of 6 in football while he was the AD at ISU....not a bad record!!

In every year except '05, when ISU has an averagish or better team - ISU wins the game. Iowa only defeated ISU once, in '05 at home when ISU had a winning record (looking at recent history).

On the other hand, ISU has been able to defeat "good" Iowa teams on more than one occasion - regardless of the caliber of football team ISU has.

Call it what you want - but each year the Big 10 continues to get more and more exposed as a less-than-great power conference. This series puts yet another chink in that armor.

a number, really...you think he has a number and that 666 is somehow relavent in society today? other then being the number after 665 and before 667? you really think it makes me "bad" person to use that number? wow...society has gone down a sad slope if a number actually means something other then a numerical ranking.

again...you guy's can say we've won the last 6 out 8 or whatever...but the bottom line is it is the overall record that counts, and until you guy's reach that magic NUMBER over the hawks, this conversation is moot.
