Bohall was only scholarship because the Hawkeyes had 3 available. He was not a recruited athlete. Iowa never promised him a scholarship for his entire stay and his spot was used for one of the incoming recruits.

That pretty much says Lick's mind was made up that Freeman was gone before he met with Freeman. In Freeman's own quotes there was no "my way or the highway, your choice" option offered him, it was "there's the door".
Players get run off all the time at lots of programs. Lick did it to Dan Bohall a few weeks ago. The only unusual thing here is that he did it to a guy who led his team in scoring and minutes. He must have plans to replace Freeman that will become clear to the public soon. Ummmm, no. There is no fact correction. I realize captains were named. I never stated otherwise.
I'm beginning to wonder about your intelligence level. You tried to argue a point against me without actually arguing.
What I am saying, and this is not refutable (because people with connections better than you, Mr. Burns) have said that Lick outlined a very strict set of guidelines that he expects his players to follow next year, and what they need to improve on. Lick told Freeman that if he does not meet these guidelines, he'll be riding the pine, and that he would probably have better luck playing elsewhere.
And yes, Cole/Tate were named captains for obvious reasons. You don't name a player captain when he refuses to buy into your system, and has made little effort to change. It's obvious last year that Freeman hadn't changed much, and if he was named captain, what would that say to players that have done everything they can do play Lick's way?

You are correct sir, thank you for "fact checking" Mr. Burns.

Then why did Lick decline to name Freeman a captain or co-captain before meeting with him and asking him if he would buy in to the system?
If it went as you explain, then Lick evidently knew Freeman's answer before he asked Freeman the question, eh? How would he know Freeman wouldn't agree to play the Butler way? Oh wait, maybe he checked with the Board of Regents...
As always, your lack of logic and inability to recognize facts makes your statements irrelevent.

I didn't know that it was assumed since you were a starter in previous years, that you were automatically a captain. That's a spot you have to earn - and apparently Lick didn't think he earned it.

Randy Peterson quoted Freeman in the Register as saying that one of the coach's specific concerns was Freeman's conduct towards the officials.
I don't remember seeing him do a lot of complaining. Did I miss something?

This is a weird deal. The coach throws the best player off the team for unspecified reasons. It doesn't appear the kid was having grade problems or brushes with the law. He just didn't seem to get along with the coach?? You'd think both sides of that equation could have made the situation work(especially when you take into account how good a player Freeman is.)
I think the Freeman is the one who get's hurt the most out of this deal. He has to find another school and try to adapt yet another coach his senior year when what he should be doing is helping a team he knows win and also postion himself for the NBA.
I mean jeez, Larry Eustachy didn't throw Jamal Tinsley off the team when it was clear Jamal had a "bad attitude" at times?
