Re: Iowa City

Everything north of I-80 is great, especially the restaurants. It's when you lurk south of the interstate when you start running into trouble. The K-12 schools here are pretty good, too. I don't care much for the U of I campus though.

Don't get me wrong the ped mall area is pretty nice but once you start getting into the houses and apartments around it, it starts looking sketchy. I don't know if anything beats good ole Cedar Rapids though!

Stop skipping class please, you really need to go. You really, really, really, need to go.

Who flamed you? I'm kind thinking it may be you that needs to get all grows up.

Re: Iowa City

I love it when the voice of reason chimes in. There are alot of Iowa City kids that go to ISU, you are insulting your own with posts like this. Iowa city is a great place to live. And Ames is too.

huh? The restaurants in North Liberty are better than the restaurants in Iowa City and Coralville? I would have to respectfully disagree.

I lived in Ames for 10 years and Iowa City for 9. While I'm not jonesing to move back to either, there is pretty much nothing that could make me move back to Ames. Other than Iowa State and a good K-12 school system, the town has very little going for it in my opinion.

Uh, yeah I forgot the mall was south of I-80 but not by much. Coralville beats Iowa City in restaurants IMO.

I visit Iowa City on occasion. Seems like a nice enough place. If there is a knock against Iowa City, in my humble opinion, it's (some of) the "fans". But I digress. I guess it's just silly of me to assume that I should be able to drive my car with ISU license plates somewhere and not get obscene gestures and harassment solely because of my alma matter.

Brown apples that are full of worms and he still thinks he possesses the forbidden fruit.

At least you possess some maturity and even though we all go back and forth with you and your spinning, at least you show some smarts in most of your arguments instead of the big turd that just won't flush.

I know I used that halfway jokingly with you once, but this guy is the real deal and I can't wait for the plunger to do its job......

what "campus"? Iowa doesn't even have a centralized campus. I absolutely hate it. As for the city, it all depends on where you are....some parts of it are just ugly and disgusting as sin and others make you think "I wouldn't mind living here...if it weren't for the rest of this place."

Iowa does have a "campus" area, but it's nothing like ISU's campus. The buildings are spread out a lot more with businesses in between.

Basically, the area around the river and between the Old Capital and Kinnick, it's all campus. But even that is interrupted by busy streets.

Re: Iowa City

Iowa City has better bars and nightlife. Whereas Ames has a better campus and k-12 system. Pick your poison. Although I'm only gonna be 21 my senior year at ISU so I don't care that much about bars if you know what I mean.
