Iowa City

I just got back to Ames from celebrating my friends 21st birthday in Iowa City (don't worry I wasn't drinking), and while i was there i think i got herpies and should probably scrub up really good. But seriously that city for the most part just looks like a huge pile of cow crap!

Re: Iowa City

My condolences. I hope you recover fully, and are able to live a long and fruitful life, having survived such trauma.

Re: Iowa City

IA City does have a few bright spots....mostly my brother in law and his family that live there. And a couple friends from highschool.

That is why they have the University Hospital there, to clean up all the loose ends.

Re: Iowa City

oh, and all the strip malls in Ames are soo beautiful. The mall with 2 dinky stores in it will keep you entertained for atleast 20 whole minutes! The lovely glow of burning coaches at Veisha are so awe inspiring. The fresh scent of cow manure. and rioting at Veisha....oh the rioting.

Stop skipping class please, you really need to go. You really, really, really, need to go.

Burning coaches? Is that your high school drop-out education kicking in there?

Re: Iowa City

Hate to say it, but I really like Iowa City. I've always hated Iowa's campus, but the town itself makes up for that. Probably hometown bias, though...

Re: Iowa City

Exactly, Iowa City is a nice town, and Ames is too really. There is no need for posts like this. But hey, if you flame me, I'll flame back.

We should have a face-off between these two posters. The battle would be one for the ages.

Re: Iowa City

i went and visited a friend in iowa city a few weeks back, i wouldn't call it anything but different. It is just weird to me that the two biggest colleges in Iowa are so different. I think both have their perks, but I'm glad I chose Iowa States

Re: Iowa City

It's a lot closer to where I live, so I go there a lot more often than Ames...Hey, it has a Texas Roadhouse at least!

Re: Iowa City

Iowa City is not a bad place. Lots of good places to eat, and a lot of fun things to do. The U of I campus (and that area) is a little different, to say the least, but it's not the garbage dump that some people like to think it is.

Re: Iowa City

despite being home of our bitter rival, I have had a lot of good times in IC back when I lived in the midwest. I'm not going to be a myopic ISUer and hate the place b/c the U of I is there, it's really a decent town. I found it funny how so many people I knew while I was at ISU (mid 90s) would go over to IC for the weekend to hit the bar scene and party. From the outside looking in, the state of Iowa is lucky to have two such great college towns for their state universities. If there's a rival town to pile on, go after Lincoln.
