Bergin (sp) (track coach) A track coach that 90% of us have never heard of being on the Mt. Rushmore of ISU? Huh. |

Was Pete a beloved announcer, yes. I believe there are plenty of better options that actually impacted the outcome on the field.
My Coach List:
Harold Nichols
Bill Bergen
Johnny Orr
Frank MCGuire
Player list:
Gary Thompson
Dan Gable
Cael Sanderson
Newal El Moutawakil |

I'd probably go with....
Cael Sanderson
Johnny Orr
Troy Davis
Pete Taylor
Cael and Troy both did something nobody else has done (Cael undefeated 4 time Nat'l champ, TD only back to rush for 2,000 yds twice in Div. 1). Johnny created Hilton Magic and Pete was a special, special broadcaster.
Harold Nichols is deserving, but I think Orr impacted ISU more. |
