I'm sure that they are really monitoring the janitorial staff at all 3 universities as well.

So how do you apply for the job of "searcher of facebook"?? That must be a cake walk job if there ever was one to have.

Well, you first have to be able to read...which is probably why they will be looking outside of Iowa City for candidates.

From his many posts on the subject it's clear that he does not realize this.

You're right - I bet the Regents did force Barta and Ferentz to start monitoring Facebook accounts.

My bad. I forgot they play a part in any/every decision ever.

I heard that they mandated that the lawns at all universities be trimmed to 2.734".

Re: UI Monitoring facebook pages

I'm sure almost every school has people that monitor what their athletes are doing with their online profiles, whether it is said publicly or not.

Re: UI Monitoring facebook pages

Employers check webpages already... no real suprise schools are doing it. Thats why you have to use a little common sense as to what you put up on your pages.

So what U of I REALLY should be doing is assigning people to help athletes decide what to put on facebook, kind of like how they have students to check athlete's class attendance

Re: UI Monitoring facebook pages

Why this is news worthy or why it has turned into another "rip on SouthernHawk" thread is beyond me. Remember SH, to some posters, your not allowed to ask questions.

I'll say it again; I enjoy SouthernHawk's posts. I find a bunch to be off the wall, and a lot of them to be reasoned out, or neat pieces of sarcasm where he's caught somebody (who doesn't usually see it).

It'd be better if he'd catch on that he lives in a Cyclone state, but we at least have a literate Hawk fan floating around. I enjoy having him here.

I pretty much agree with this post. I just find it amusing that you could catch Ferentz mixing up the potion in his meth lab the same time he is snorting a line of Coke while IMing a pre-teen girl trying to get her to meet him in an area park and somehow, someway, ISU has had the same thing happen or worse and since they have a hawk logo somewhere on their clothes it's not so bad or a case of mistaken identity. His spinning numbers that support his argument while leaving out the facts that would hamper his argument are reaching legendary status.

Otherwise, I don't mind his posts......

Re: UI Monitoring facebook pages

Southern, In the hopefully near(then farther) future when you have hung around THE University of Iowa, Iowa State University long enough to realize they are the team to follow. Do you realize all the posts that we are going to be able to give you crap about back in the day when you always stuck up for your now bitter rival and how your vision used to be cloudy but then maturity took over and jump started your mind into action and now all is clear as a bell.

Archive posts can come back to haunt after you have come to your senses......You do realize this, don't you????
