UI Monitoring facebook pages

It just keeps getting better. I don't necessarily disagree I just think it is sad that they need to do so.

CSI: Iowa City coming your way in Aug.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Uhhh, weren't some ISU athletes caught drinking underage through facebook?

ISU Student - Iowa fan. Best of both worlds.

And Southernhawk again goes on the offensive by trying to turn things around where ISU is "just as bad as UI". If things weren't so bad in Iowa City threads such as these would not exist. We have had our bad times but no one can ever say that the current situation in Iowa City has been topped in Ames.

nope you are incorrect...you are probably confusing another Iowa State Univesity in Ames, Iowa with THE Iowa State University. Their dates of birth where the same, and they had the same home town but totally different universities.

When I initially heard this I thought it was strange, but it does make a lot of sense. Just lets the players know that you are watching them... It might just give them a moment of pause before posting something detrimental to the school or team.

Exactly. That's why more and more universities are doing this.

It's officially SUI not UI, if anyone is keeping score.

I'm not on the offensive. The original poster was just making a point of how said it is that Iowa has to do this. I was just pointing out the irony that ISU has caught players drinking by doing this. Seeing as how this is an ISU board, it would have been irrelevant for me to point out that Penn State has also caught players doing illegal things by using Facebook.

I think it's high time that SUI has started doing this. I mean, it's not like they REALLY care if their football players are stealing, raping and murdering at will; Doing it and then putting it on the internet just complicates the coverup and victim intimidation unit's efforts after the fact, to keep Johnny on the football field on Saturday no matter what.

Yeah, I mean, that makes sense right? I just know the Regents are forcing Barta and Ferentz to do this. Shame on them. Shame on them indeed.

You do realize SH that as employees of the state, anyone working at the university of Iowa comes under the direction of the Regents right? That includes Barta and Ferentz.
