And this year when ISU misses Oklahoma & Texas it only leaves ranked teams like Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma State, as well as traditional power Nebraska on the schedule. It hardly compares to Iowa's killer lineup of Northwestern, Indiana, and Maine. | | |

In years past when we missed them we still had to play other killer teams... We can't help it that Nebraska, K-State, and Colorado fell off the face of the Earth.
And at least when we don't have them on the schedule, we are not counting on going undefeated and winning the Big 10 like you guys did last year, and some will unfortunately do again this year.

Just because Nebraska is a tradition power doesn't mean they are going to be good this year. In fact, I noticed that a lot of fans on this site were predicting them to be pretty bad this year.
Oh, and Okie State isn't ranked in very many pre-season polls. In fact, I haven't seen them ranked in any. But perhaps I missed one. I'll give it to you, simply because they're probably ranked in the same poll that Pitt is ranked.
So would you care to spin your argument a little more fairly next time?

Yup, according to statistics based on last year's results. No matter, the difference between Iowa and ISU's schedule isn't that big. No matter how much spin can undo that either.

The difference is big. The following teams have schedules easier than ISU's but harder than Iowa's:
Texas A&M
New Mexico State
Louisiana Tech
Missouri
Hawaii
Central Florida
North Texas
San Diego State
Central Michigan
BYU
UTEP
Wake Forest
Boise State
Idaho
Air Force
Miami of Ohio
Troy
Tulane
Temple
Fresno State
How good can the Big Ten be when so many WAC, MAC, and other directional conference schools have harder schedules than a Big Ten team?

How good can the Big Ten be when so many WAC, MAC, and other directional conference schools have harder schedules than a Big Ten team? I dunno, the fact that every other Big Ten team other than Iowa is ahead of ISU, TAMU, and Missouri says to me that the BT can't be that bad. In fact, ISU plays TAMU, Missouri, and Iowa, right? They play 3 teams in the bottom 73. Iowa plays 1 team in the bottom 72 ( ISU).
Fact correct all you want, but the point is, there are 10 BT teams in front of ISU, Missouri, and TAMU. Not sure what that says about the bottom 1/4 of the Big 12.
Edit: And the fact that Iowa is so low when the rest of the BT teams are so high is evidence that Iowa's OOC is a large part of the equation. ISU, Pitt, Maine, and FIU isn't exactly a world beater of an OOC schedule.
