I'm a convert! I was part of the dark side for 17 years... and then I needed a school with an architecture program. Go state!

Of course, it's possible that he has somehow improved in the 1.75 years I've been gone from Central Iowa, but I would be surprised if the improvement is significant. No, when I've heard him, he's not that much different.
Usually, that's my sleep time, so I don't think I'm missing much.

Miller isn't horrible, he's just way too PC for my taste. It's nice to listen to someone with a little edge. Even though Deace was a crazy, religious-right, cyclone-homer, I liked his old show better than Jon's.

Ames is any different? My experience between Ames and Iowa City, is that whenever we went over there, we drank those wusses into the ground. Its easier to be a hawk cause they have #s...

THEORY? It's a fact. When someone enrolls at the U of I the first thing they do is revoke their right to cheer for the athletic program. I applied to U of I just to have options, and they sent me a letter saying if I accepted their offer of admission, I could no longer cheer for the Hawkeyes. This letter is sent to all prosepctive students. Thus, all Hawk fans go to Kirkwood or UNI. Dead serious. I'm surprised you guys didn't know that...

More realistically, the majority of people who enroll at the U of I are Illinois residents who couldn't make the cut academically at the University of Illinois. They are fans of the Bears, Bulls, White Sox, and Cubs....not the Hawkeyes.

Why do you think Carver is always packed with Illinois fans when they play. Cause they live closer to CHA than most Hawk fans. Its walking distance for most Illini.

Thanks Jon, this thread made me laugh even more than the day you talked about Clown fans and their precious signs. Keep on keeping up the black and gold fight my friend

Who let out the 4-year old out of his room? Where's his mommy?
I almost pity you though. You're not only a Hawk fan - but a Bears fan as well. Man...that's gotta suck for you.
I can see why you're so frustrated.
