Running Back - ISU (No explanation needed)
Receivers/TE - Push (Both teams have exciting young players, but a lack of proven performers)
OL - Push (Injuries decimated Iowa's line last year)
Kicker - Push (Don't know who takes over for Shaggy, but Iowa's kickers were bad last year)
DL - Iowa (two 4 year starters at tackle for Iowa and a couple of young studs at end. ISU's Kurtis Taylor should have a nice year)
Linebackers - Iowa (AJ Edds is an all Big10 type of player and Iowa has some nice depth and talent at this position. Ace Bowen will be sorely missed this year, the guy was everywhere on the field.
Secondary - Push (Both teams return a couple of starters, but this is not a position of strength for either team)
Punter - Iowa (Donahue struggled early but came on strong towards the end of the year and has a powerful leg. Forgive me, but I am not familiar with ISU's punting situation) give receivers to ISU please, we are solid. Also, if Iowa has a kicker at all they better get the edge because until fall we don't have one.

Although I think they should use him like Mizzou uses Maclin. That kid is a weapon.

I basically agree with nearly everything the original poster wrote.... with one exception... the secondary. I would give ISU the edge there with both starting corners (Singleton, Bell) and both starting safeties ( Brown, Smith) back this year.
QB: probably is a push at this point, only because we're not sure what we will get from AA or PB. I'm hoping our starting QB ends up being a lot better than JC, but right now it's probably a push.
RB: obvious edge to ISU IMO.
WR/TE: I say push. I do like DJK... and Brodell and Moeaki are tough if they are healthy? Hamilton and Sumrall are decent WRs, but I think ISU could really shine if Jason Carlson and Sedrick Johnson can come in and provide some homerun ability.
OL: kinda like the QB and WR positions in that right now I think it's a push, but I'm very optimistic that this will be an edge to ISU as the season goes along. I haven't seen this kind of talent in an ISU OL in a long time. If they mesh well together, they could be very good. In a couple years time, they will be awesome IMO.
DL and LB are clearly in Iowa's favor IMO... and it's not even very close. I'm not sure, with the possible exception of Kurtis Taylor, if there's an ISU player on the entire DL or LB that I would take over Iowa's right now. I hope I'm underestimating ISU's players here?
Secondary: ISU edge
Kicker: push
Punter: probably a push looking at the stats.

I think WRs are a push for this reason. ISU's returning receivers have better hands, but Iowa's returning receivers have more big play ability.

Forgive my EIU ignorance, but who is DJK?

He's actually not too bad, but not worth the hype. Maybe he will be this year since he's entering the year knowing he's pretty much the man.

But then again, he is my namesake, so I'm not gonna let a comment like yours just pass on by. | | |

Odds are pretty good that 3 - 5 of them have a better chance at seeing the inside of a jail cell. Yeah, they will make the paper, but it won't be for their play.
