And they do this on an ISU site because they graduated from ISU and claim to want to talk about ISU, but they are quick to not only defend their beloved Hawkeyes but also to really let you know that they are Hawkeye fans.
Basically, it's best to let the people involved hash out their arguments. It's June and they need something to talk about.

I think ISU has the edge. I graduated from there...so it must be so.

Basically, it's best to let the people involved hash out their arguments. It's June and they need something to talk about. I would certainly never stop anybody from doing so, I don't have the power to do it if I wanted to. Just throwing my opinion out there in hopes of saving somebody's sanity.
I fully understand there are some fans for all teams that fit my description, I grew up in the Omaha area surrounded by Husker fans (I actually enjoy most Husker fans outside of the Eastern NE / Western IA region). My experience has shown that Hawk fans, as a group, are on the far end of the bell curve. They can't seem to fathom that their university and it's sports teams aren't the greatest thing in the history of humanity. I spent two years at UI for grad school and would love to cheer for the Hawks, can't do it though. I can however admit when they beat ISU that they were the better team..........

Yeah, of course it happens both ways. But generally I think you'll find that it's a certain few ISU fans who always start the Iowa threads, and then a certain couple Hawk fans who swoop in to save the day for Iowa.
And I'm a sucker for it. I always read these threads because I am an ISU and thus I have a stake in my team's success. But seriously it is about time that we get past this preoccupation with the Hawks. You never see 10 pages of posts for a thread about Missouri or even Nebraska.

I just think that it is a college rivalry, and we are really not unlike other big school rivalries in that there is always going to be a competition.

You also gotta keep in mind that this is a Cyclone fan site, where Cyclone fans likely outnumber Hawkeye fans 1000/1. I've seen a lot of threads on this site linking to threads on Hawk fan sites that do quite a bit of trashing of ISU athletics...

Speaking of DJK...
Isn't he Iowa leading returning rusher with 19 yards last year?
It's not like Iowa lost 1400 yards of rushing, and 2 of their top 4 recievers from last year. Oh wait.
