EIU fans need to quit crying about it and get out their wallet and pay for it if they want it so bad. I would cancel Mediacom in a heartbeat if I had to pay for that garbage channel.
Big Ten Network is part of the expanded sports package on my system. The only time I watch it is if ISU is playing a big ten team, so I don't know if it's a quality production or not. I can say however that I wish the Big12 had a similar product. It really increases the chances to watch "your team" which is really appreciated if you live out of region.

Funny you should say that. Before last years game an Iowa fan told me he couldnt believe we were allowing them to wear their home jerseys in Ames. I laughed and asked what difference that made and he said there is just something about wearing your home jersey. He went on to say a team always plays better in their home jersey and that is not good for ISU. Looking back I guess JP did Iowa a favor in allowing them to wear their home jerseys.

I'm not an expert on sports, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

I guess there's some other explanation as to why Miami, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Carolina, and Arizona (possibly among others) wear their white jerseys at home for the first couple of months of the NFL season. My first guess is probably because it's hotter than hell outside and wearing white provides them with some kind of advantage...

Nope. My HS and it's district (Omaha Burke and OPS for those who care) were really dumb about that stuff. Other things they had issue with while my brother was there:

-Guys painting up for FB games without shirts on. They made them put on shirts.
-Didn't want them to stand at FB games (they won that one)
-Put an end to their tailgating on friday nights prior to kickoff. This one can be blamed on the students as they did happen to bring a full size root beer keg to the first tailgate, and the news had great shots of one guy doing a keg stand in the school parking lot. I thought it was hilarious.
-You can't stand after the first home team basket at BB games.
-Put an end to theme nights at all home BB games (western, MASH, Hawaiian, etc)
-Probably a bunch of other things I've forgotten about.

Yeah, my HS could be very dumb at times.

The game turned out to be a decent draw for Versus, maybe they will pick it up.

They can't. All TV games are determined by the home team's (or home team's conference, more accurately) television contract.

The only way ISU-Iowa will be on one of the ESPN networks is if ESPN2 adds two time slots to that day's coverage specifically for Big Ten home games (Purdue-Oregon being the other). Otherwise, look for it on BTN.

Crap, looks like I will now have to go to a bar in IC to watch this since I'll be there with friends but I doubt they'll have the BTN at their house. Beer showers here I come

Of course, it's been so many months since I watched a college football game that I wasn't even thinking about how these things work.

It's going to be on the Big 10 network.

Instead of a "blackout" they should alternate white and black. That way they can represent their new jailbird unis.

Expect a beer shower. Nothing is quite as sweet as a beer shower after another Cyclone victory over EIU. Fear not though... many of the fans of EIU will be joining their friends and team in the Johnson County jail after that game so you should be safe there.

It would be a special new level to see Court TV broadcasting games.
If Iowa and Tennessee were to play, that might have to be on Court TV.

I thought those were their road jerseys. Aren't their home unis orange?

Maybe their pre-game song could be "I've been working on the chain gang"?

He is right. Iowa was 4-3 in their home jerseys and 2-3 in their road jerseys. Even though they weren't any good in either jersey, they were better in the home ones.

Iowa Hawkeye All-Stars, 2007-2008: Ryan Bain, Ricky Stanzi, Dana Brown, Tyler Gerstandt, Arvell Nelson, Bradley Fletcher, Dana Brown (x2), Ben Evans, Arvell Nelson (x2), Dominique Douglas, Anthony Bowman, Clint Huntrods, Lance Tillison, Dana Brown (x3), Dominique Douglas (x2), Brandon Myers, Ryan Donahue, Arvell Nelson (x3), James Cleveland, Cody Hundertmark, Cedric Everson, Abe Satterfield, Riley Reiff, Dexman Moses, who will be next???

As terrible as they are the last few seasons, I would say that the are a little lesser degree of bad in the home jerseys as they are in the away jerseys. Polishing a turd does not turn it into Herschey bar......still a turd so black is fitting.
