Story in the Press-Citizen. It's not for the faint of heart and it is truly disgusting. I wouldn't link it but I know it will come up eventually. Please keep the thread as appropriate as possible.

I will say I think this sounds worse than the Pierce incident, and I know why the department kept this on the down low for so long.

I'm never going to rip on a guy for recruiting certain kids if they don't have a record. As far as I know Everson and Satterfield had never been in trouble before this. It's not like Kirk discussed these guys with his coaching staff and said, well they might rape somebody but they sure can play. At least they were gone right away and they didn't redshirt them for a year.

Right, but that doesn't mean a coach doesn't have a means to gain some insight into a recruit's character. I'll take a losing season with high character individuals every year over a team with a bunch of thugs.

Let's not even start this. It's extremely unfortunate that these players turned out this way. Extremely unfortunate. But they were not recruited under the knowledge that they were bad characters.

KF did the right thing by kicking them off the team, and I hope to everything holy that this never happens again. Stories like this make me sick.

Coaches have come out and said many times with all the restrictions on recruiting that it is becoming harder and harder to be able to judge the character of a kid since they have so little time they can spend with them.

This situation is terrible and I hope these two rot for the rest of their lives but you can't honestly put this on Ferentz

I've met a lot of people in my life, and I would have no idea how to tag somebody as a potential rapist. I just can't hold this against the staff.

So do you spose the girl was "sleeping" or passed out? If she was that drunk that fast, I'd say she passed out. If that's the case, hopefully she learns something from it also.

What, that if you get drunk in a college dorm you should expect to be raped?

No.

It's college. People get drunk. There are all sorts of laws protecting intoxicated individuals from stuff like this.
