He has the embarrassment of fans leaving games early and/or booing their own team off their own field on senior day.

He has to try to recruit amid the negative publicity of leading the "Thug U" program plus coaching a losing team. He lost at least one big recruit who verbally committed to Iowa then changed his mind after making a visit during the WMU game weekend.

Iowa newspapers and radio and TV stations will have a field day ripping his program apart this summer as court appearances by James Cleveland, Arvell Nelson, Abe Satterfield, and Cedric Everson will get tons of press coverage in the otherwise slow Iowa summer sports season.

If he has another mediocre year with 5 or 6 wins or if he continues to have players arrested on a near-daily basis, well, this blog says it best:

"If Ferentz and Iowa do indeed go 6-6 and have a losing record in the Big Ten in 2008, the question will then turn to if Iowa can continue to pay a coach that is putting mediocrity onto the football field. Reading Ferentz's contract, it is not entirely clear to us what Ferentz's December 2008 buyout would be, but our best guess puts it around $4.55 million. Would Iowa pay a football coach $4.55 million to buyout a contact? We are doubtful that they would, but if Iowa does put up a 6-6 record in 2008, the Hawkeye fans are going to be demanding that someone answer for Iowa's recent football records, and the football coach would be the obvious person to go."

I don't know about that. They don't have any physical evidence, do they? They have a couple "witnesses" who weren't in the room and an accuser who was so drunk that she doesn't remember if she told them to stop. I've got a bad feeling. If they are indeed guilty, I hope like hell I am wrong.

Jason Ford, running back from Missouri. He was an Iowa verbal in the fall. A week or two after the WMU game he changed his mind, and he ended up signing with Illinois.

You can google it and find all the articles you'll ever want.

Supposedly there is a DNA sample obtained from the victim that matches at least one of the two accused parties.

If this goes to trial, it's going to be UGLY. That's for sure. As for KF, no way does he get bought out, even if they go 6-6 or 5-7. There will be pressure to replace the OC and DC, which KF will do before anyone gets the axe ready.

Do or do not, there is no try .....Yoda

But if the two accused aren't denying that they had sex with her, then I don't know how far that will get them. I'm not a lawyer and am not pretending to, but that is how I was taking it upon reading everything.

I think he has totally lost control of the program and should have sprinted to Ann Arbor when he had the chance.

Re: Difficult scenario for Kirk Ferentz

I think if there is a trial Kirk Ferentz will definitely be a witness as well as possibly a lot of the players and the recruits that were present that night. I think that the court will have questions about what Kirk knows and why he sent the players back to that room full of potential evidence. The recruits who saw everson/satterfield with the victim that night and the victims state of mind. Players who saw the victim and alleged attackers that night and there actions after that night.

Satterfield may be able to argue that the sex was consensual but Everson allegedly had sex with the victim while she was passed out and Satterfiled knew it and provided access to the incapacitated victim.

Here ya go:
"Ford, who ran for 6,415 yards at Althoff, committed to Iowa last summer after attending the Hawkeyes' football camp. But his decision began to waver after not feeling comfortable around the team at a Sept. 8 Iowa-Syracuse game.
That led to what Ford and his family called a "soft verbal" commitment to Iowa that opened the door to other programs again. He eventually decided on Illinois and is expected to sign with Coach Ron Zook's Fighting Illini on Feb. 6."

He was wavering before Western Michigan. Show me an article that states Im not going to Iowa anymore because of the Western Michigan game. Just show the article, thats all I ask

Aren't you rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? What difference does it make? Whether UI lost him after Syracuse or WMU, you still lost him.

Re: Difficult scenario for Kirk Ferentz

You don't have to be direct witness to be of interest for the lawyer who wants to string these guys up. I would say there will be a good chance Kirk gets to field a couple of questions.
