But the facts are he went from a verbal to Iowa early in the fall to unsure in the middle of the season to a committment to Illinois after the WMU game, which he attended. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that watching Iowa fans thank their seniors for 5 years of hard work by booing them off the field might not make a good impression on recruits who are there to see it happen.

Anyone know if there is a lack or loss of institutional control clause or something like it in KF's contract.
I dont want him to leave, I say give him and OKeefe lifetime contracts. I really think they arent good coaches, but they had a couple of good years with some really talented guys.

"A violation of any policy of the Regents or the University involving dishonesty, moral turpitude or conflict of interest....any other personal conduct that impares Coach's ability to fulfill assigned duties or reflects adversely on the Coach's fitness to serve as head coach."

But what about having to pay his sorry *** if they fire him over it?

Those clauses are hardly worth printing. If we had to pay Larry Eustachy, Iowa's going to have to pay Kirk Ferentz.

By my read, he would be paid only what he has coming up to the date of being released, and no more. It's laid out pretty clearly. It is not the same as being fired for losing, although I don't know how often it is used, and I'm certainly not saying it will be a factor for KF. Monte is probably spot on for these issues.
To be fair, Iowa State had some issues after hiring a head football coach several years ago. These can be tough.
