Where did the Hawk fans go?

I'm in Estes Park Colorado this week and normally would see a lot of Iowa T Shirts and caps. So far only one. I have seen alot more Iowa State and Cyclone stuff, which is a surprise to me, and have had a lot of Cyclone fans speak up as we pass. Are Iowa fans staying close to home, or not wearing their stuff? Any others notice this happening anywhere else?

check the trailor park, thats where most of the hawk fans live

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

Re: Where did the Hawk fans go?

In all honesty, is it really a year for Hawk fans to want to celebrate. Those living in or near Cedar Rapids or Iowa City would just be happy to have their homes back.

Most of them drive the mid 80's Caprice Classic station wagon with the woodgrain on the side.

They aren't the most economical in gas so at times like these they have to make the choice between the crack parties in their trailer park or buying gas for their cruisers. Crack appears to be winning......

Colorado coach Gary Barnett "I thought we had a pretty good mascot, but when we showed up at Iowa State, they had a real tornado. That's the real deal." November 12, 2005

At Disney World we saw 12 - 15 ISU hats, shirts, etc. Talked to a couple of folks from Ames. One Hawk T-shirt the whole week. At least I think it was a hawk t-shirt...it was pretty faded and stretched out over some big ole gut...

oh snap,LOL

Thank you Wes Johnson for the great 2 years you gave Iowa State. Wish you could've stayed. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.

"The one thing I really want to say is to tell the fans thank you for everything," Johnson said. "You rooted for me, you were behind me with my injury, and I really appreciated that."

I just spent the week in Estes Park and RMNP and I'd have to say that Hawk clothing outnumbered ISU gear (at least as I saw it) about 3 to 2.

My son was wearing ISU clothing several days and everyone was asking if we were from Cedar Rapids or Des Moines and whether the floods had affected us.

Feel free to mock EIU - JCloned

WRONG....Most Hawk fans I know are WALKING because they cannot afford to buy gas at four dollars a gallon!!

Something to do with the fact that working at either Wal-Mart or the gas station doesn't quite pay the gas bills, even with employee discount?
