He is my most hated hawkeye coach...

Him and Dan Gable are always running their mouth..

Brands yells and points at the refs, ISU coaches, etc...

Cael just ignores both Brands and Gable which I find amusing...

Too bad Cael would work them both on the mat...

Tom Brands is exactly what I think of when I think of a Hawkeye. He is also everything posted previously in this thread. I can't stand him.

he does seem to have that aura about him that just screams DB. kind of embodies hawkeyes if you think about it.

He is a classy guy. So classy that he builds a program up then takes all the wrestlers out of it tearing it back down. Its nice that you can go off build talent and wait for your dream job, then bring you team with you when you get that job. Its also classy when Cael and staff is wearing suits and ties and Brands and Iowas staff are in sweats.

I think our programs are complete opposites from top to bottom, we have the more sophisticated style, they are the roughneck brawlers. I guess one benefit is that more often than not we won't be going for the same recruits based on style alone. I just hope the football adage that offense wins games, but defense wins championships applies in wrestling, as I see our guys waiting for you to screw up and to capitalize when you do.

Well I hate to point out the obvious but he is the kind of guy you love if he is your coach. Also attacking a person’s character is usually the 1st defense of a beaten, jealous foe. Furthermore he embodies everything there is about attacking life and giving it everything you have until you collapse in a heap.

If that embodies being a Hawkeye, then I say thank-you. Not much I could add from there so I’ll move forward.
