Weather-wise, it seems like it would be too far north for my taste this time of year and that July or August would be a perfect time. Thoughts or insight?

Here's a couple links: Toronto = Awesome. (Part 1) Buffalo Eats Toronto Travel Guide | Fodor's Travel Guides Toronto travel guide - Wikitravel Toronto Travel Guide - Hotels, Restaurants, Sightseeing in Toronto - New York Times Travel New Toronto Travel Guide - New Toronto Reviews and Vacations - VirtualTourist.com
We went there in August a few years ago. Weather was spectacular - upper 60s & 70s, sunny... very nice. People are superfantastically nice and hospitable, almost to the point of being embarrassing. It's like New York, only waaaaaaay more Euro (yes, that's a good thing).
Good dining/restaurant scene, good beer, cool Chinatown, Kensington Market... and this.
We were only there for a weekend, and there was A LOT we didn't even get to. The lakefront area/brewery district is also supposed to be great.

Well, it's south of MPLS although I'm not sure if it get's as much sun and I'm assuming it gets dumped on with snow like Buffalo does. DJK will make sure every Cyclone is aware that he is obsessed. His posts will highlight pictures of 20 year old football stars and overwhelm this board with his maniacal fixations. He will feverishly work, day and night, to have us all bow down to his idol . . the hawkeyes.

I should have clarified that Mason City is too freaking far north for me. Ames is the farthest most northern place I can handle, for obvious reasons.
And REALLY freaking clean which is kind of a trip for Americans. Thanks weR138 and GJ for the information on Toronto.
