Yeah, it's wild.

ISU had only 5 in each season '71-'75 and also '78, '82 and '84.

Seven home games in '81 and '83.

Eight in '85! (still finished only 5-6, with a "bonus" of losing to f****g Drake)

In 1970, ISU had only 4 home games(!) … 3 Big 8, 1 of 3 non-conference. That also was first season of 11-game schedule (at least for Iowa State).
I’ll always wonder what might have happened had Earle Bruce stayed, and the momentum continued.

Or, had they hired any guy not named Duncan. Or Criner.

I won’t add Walden, because the program was in the ground and every trace of momentum vanished before he got there.

He would have gotten run out of town for going 8-3 every year.

(Yes, there were people already complaining after three consecutive 8-3 seasons.)

May have been discussed elsewhere but why aren’t we doing Homecoming vs UCF, since that game actually follows a road game?

That is one of the best posters that I can remember, even better that I’ll easily be able to find myself from that angle.

I love the retro styling but after seeing the ‘75 poster, the margins on the side of the ‘24 poster really bother me now. :p

My first home game as a student. A complete wind tunnel with a carpeted parking lot as a playing surface. Brutal for players. Air Force kicker set a new NCAA field goal distance record.

Lots of open spaces in the stadium. Allowed for choices appropriate to discuss on 4-20.
