I realize there is another thread about Blackberry apps, but I need info on Blackberry IMAP e-mail support specifically. My wife's work has IMAP email but it does not run a BES (Enterprise Server). She'd have to use BIS (Internet Server).
My question is does anybody have any experience running IMAP email via BIS through their Blackberry and if so does it work satisfactorily? Everything I've read in searches seems to reflect that it will not sync read/unread status, etc effectively between the BB and another client such as T-bird or Outlook. POP seems to work just fine, but not IMAP. We don't want to plunk down $100-$200 on a new BB to have it not do email as intended. Seems like they don't support BIS as well as BES because they're trying to make some extra $$ to get you to buy BES.
