Former Florida quarterback Jalen Kitna entered the transfer portal Monday, less than a week after child pornography charges against him were dropped as part of a plea deal.

Most of the time they get off extremely easy. Seriously, in some states a guy can flat out abuse his step-kid and the mom still has to allow the abuser visitation with his biological kids even though they’re the victim’s siblings. The abuser still gets to be involved and put the other kids at risk. There have even been cases where the mom tries to fight it and the court awards custody to the abuser. It sounds crazy but it really happens.

These cases are hard to prosecute unless somebody literally catches you in the act with a camera, so these guys end up taking slap on the wrist plea deals that in no way match the severity of the crime.

Screw Dilfer and UAB for taking this guy in. I hope they lose every game by 50.

i read the article--it's bad. that said, they have underage kids here in New Orleans that get pregnant or have STDs. The hospitals report the incidents to the police, as they're required by law, but the police almost never follow up.

it is a sad situation when child services know of abusive situations and fail to remove children from those homes bc they have nowhere to put them.

Just a lack of resources in many cities to deal with what is, apparently, a widespread problem.
