Entropy and mapnerd's entries reminded me of other Wes Anderson films:

Judy is a Punk & These Days - always reminds of Margot Tenenbaum

Search & Destroy - Life Aquatic and Bill Murray shooting at the Pirates

I was just listening to The Stooges last night and thinking about Life Aquatic. I was also listening to Bowie, which (while they were covers) also makes me think of that.

(You got) The Touch - Night Ranger

Will never hear it and not imagine Mark Wahlberg and John C. Reilly in the studio cutting that track in Boogie Nights.

You got the touch, you got the pow-er, yeah!

Reading this thread as kids are playing and listening to Kindermusik CDs. On comes Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy, which takes me immediately to Home Alone.

And Wahlberg managed to sound godawful singing it! The song that resonates with me in that film is "Driver's Seat" by Sniff 'n' the Tears. The whole soundtrack of that film is awesome.

Lookin' Out My Back Door - Creedence. Obviously, this takes me to The Big Lebowski.
Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones. Takes me to Casino. So does House of the Rising Sun.
Stranglehold - Ted Nugent. Takes me to Dazed and Confused.

Dead Flowers by the Rolling Stones always reminds me of The Big Lebowski, even though that song was used for the end credits.

I think a popular answer would be Blue Swede "Hooked on a Feeling" and Guardians of the Galaxy

Speaking of credit songs, Get Back by Ludacris now always makes me think for Les Grossman dancing to that while the credits run for Tropic Thunder.

Two from Marley & Me:

Shiny Happy People, by R.E.M.
Lucky Man, by The Verve (I always picture that scene of John sitting on the beach with middle-aged Marley, having a discussion about life)

If you never bought the music soundtrack there are actually two. Totally agree about Drivers Seat and the entire soundtrack. Every song reminds me of the movie. And PT Anderson uses them expertly, every single one.

LeAnn Rhimes "How Do I" from Con Air. Everytime I hear that song I think of that movie. My girlfriend (now wife) and I broke up after going to the movie. Not sure what caused the breakup. Got back together after about a month. Got married in 2001 and actually played that song as our 1st dance.

"I've Been Waiting For A Girl Like You" by Foreigner always reminds me of the movie Snow Day...

Really random, no idea why that stuck with me.
