Quite a season for the Cyclones, to claim second in a conference like this one.

Remarkable accomplishment! I don't think the rest of the country recognizes the quality of the teams behind Baylor in the Big 12 this year. Hopefully all the teams can show the competitiveness in the NCAA tourney. Hopefully the seeding won't put us and others at a disadvantage.

I agree with Cydney. The Big 12 gets no respect. The teams beat each other up and so we end up with 6 losses. Baylor is the only team in the conference ranked.

I really think this season should be a COY recognition for Bill. Pulling out 2nd in this conference is an amazing job...especially when you were picked to finish no better than 6th.

I would be pleasantly surprised. I'm afraid Mulkey gets it running away.

And for doing what that is outstanding? Coaching a team that did what it was expected to do? That's the tough part

I'm not saying she did a terrific job, however a sweep of the conference along with a likely #1 NCAA tourney seed will be hard to ignore. If Bill did that - even if ISU was a huge favorite - we would all be screaming for him to get it.

I think it is a travesty that he has never won it.

Exactly - Mulkey met the expectations that were set for her team at the beginning of the season. Fennelly exceeded expectations, picked 6th and finished outright 2nd. Not to shabby for a team that plays 6 players.

I liken it to my employees, those who meet expectations will get a standard raise at best, where those who exceed expectations get an above average raise. You reward those who exceed, not those who meet.

Too bad it is not 7 players, Jess would be nice to have on the court yet. Too bad that she just decided that she wanted to play closer to home with 3 semesters left, and starting.

I agree. She was starting here. Was my absolute fav player on the team. Def miss her, but you move forward with who sticks around.

Schroll's Central Michigan team has gone 18-10 and is in 2nd place in their division and 2nd best record overall in their conference.

How'd USD do this year?

Yackley would have graduated last year had she stayed at ISU. USD finished the regular season 15-14.

Ouch...not a pretty stat line. 30% from the field and 9% from deep? 38% free throw shooter. Double ouch.
