Laptop to TV

I know this has been answered before so I apologize for asking...but, what cord do I need to hook my laptop up to my 42" LG Plasma tv? I'm headed out tonight to buy it but want to make sure I get the correct one. Any help is appreciated!

I don't have a yellow video out or an S-Video out. All I have is a printer cord looking thing in the back and what looks like the small end of the USB connection (could this be a Digital Video out?). Am I out of luck?

My desktop had the yellow video out, but my laptop does not. I only use my laptop now and it stinks not being able to drag my video players to the tv in order to watch DVD's. :sad:

Ya, had to buy a new one after I set my old one on top of the car and drove off.

it looks like you have just a VGA/RGB (monitor) output. Some TVs have an input for such things... do you know if your TV has an RGB/VGA input on it?

Otherwise, your laptop doesn't have a 'standard' TV output.

Did you drive off recently? I've been wanting a new one but can't seem to bite the bullet. Maybe I'll try that method.

Do you have a link to the specs for your tv? You have a external monitor (VGA) port on your laptop. (Gateway Support - Rear View). you need to know if your tv will recieve it.

Make sure you get the right pins. you're probably going to need a male-male and not a female-male or female-female.
