New Post Graphic Needs More Contrast

There is not enough visible difference between NEW POST and NO NEW POSTS indications to the left of the board on the main forum page.

I realized that once we got some new posts on here this morning. I will see if I can work on it. I'm more limited in my graphics experience so it might take a few days

I have to agree. It seems a little too complicated for my taste. 6 different symbols I have to differentiate by color only is too much. (Also probably not good for color blind users). Any chance we can get more intuitive symbols? Not sure what constitutes a hot topic (or if I like the idea), but add a flame somewhere. For polls use a small bar chart or a check box. For regular posts, maybe an open folder with items in it. Just some suggestions. Anyway, other than that the new lay out looks great. Keep up the good work.

I wasn't talking about the many colored briefcases, but I agree that may be a bit confusing too.

I was talking about the big "swirls" or whatever they are on the main forum list. They are grey in color with the read forums being a slightly lighter grey.
