Beathard to the 49ers in the 3rd. Seems early to me, but good for him.

I am shocked Beathard went last night and it was a major reach IMO. Especially with Kaaya, Dobbs, and Peterman on the board. He has arm talent, NFL name, plays hurt but his accuracy isn't pro level. Funny the first Iowa player is their QB and not King.

Through the first 3 rounds:

B12- 5 picks
A&M- 3
Colorado- 2
Mizzou- 1
Nebraska- 0

So former B12 teams have more picks than our entire league.

Also interesting that Temple and Western Kentucky both had 2 picks.

Who from Iowa State should we watch for? Tucker is the only name I really know with any shot but he doesn't look like he will get picked.

The great Desmond King hasn't been drafted yet, huh. How about that.

Yet, Hawk fans will continue to say he made the right decision in coming back for his senior year. And he might have if he doesn't care about money, which he might not, and that is fine. But he was going to be a 2nd round or at worse a 3rd pick last year.

I was floored by the Beathard pick. And they actually moved up to get him there too, so they gave up picks to do it.

They could have gotten him in the 6th or 7th most likely. Good for CJ though.

I said this last year too, but this conference has really suffered in the last few years with elite talent.

I think Temple has two draft picks and the B12 had only 3.

Our conference is in trouble.
I agree, our conference is in trouble. The perception of this conference is declining every year and it shows with high school talent committing elsewhere.

Just to clarify some things..A ton of Big 12 kids could hvae come out this year and elected to return. Also..Toledo has had like 3 kids drafted thus far..We are in very good hands with this staff..They know talent and know how to develop it that next level. Don't think that they wont use this on the recruiting trail as this staff developed these kids almost their entire career.
