I was just wondering why I am the only one with a signature? Do you guys not know how to do it or what's the deal? Or am I just an idiot and should take mine down?

On many message boards, there are people that make 'em. Someone made this for me.

Not dissing anyone who does it, but I'm just here to read the boards, not look at the same signatures over and over. Although some people do make cool looking ones.

Its not hard. Hit the image button and then copy and paste the image website address in between (img) and (/img). Go to google images and find a picture you want and then just copy and paste it in.

edit: I guess I should add that this is under the settings link above Logout and Profile links on the left hand side of the website.

No... I actually like yours quite a bit. As long as they aren't too huge I think they are nice because people who go here often will automatically identify the sig with a certain poster. Since yours is not very tall but instead wide... it works very nice. If I find a cool one I'll add it, I tried doing one that spells out ISU or Iowa State with slashes and dashes but when it gets posted the spacing changes and it looked terrible.

Edit: There, I've got one now... I'll have to wait till after finals to be creative though

Is there any way a size restriction can be put on the signatures? I just saw one that took up almost my whole screen. If too many people get sigs that big, reading these forums will become annoying.

My size is probably as big as anyone should want to go. I plan on making mine smaller when I get a chance....

What is the ideal size for a graphic sig? How do you post it?
Thanks!
[/quote1146578709]

General rule of thumb is that small is good, or at least not tall. In order to have an image in your sig, you probably need someone to host it. Then you just do an html image link to the location of the image. I am not sure if Jeremy allows image hosting here or not. If not, you would need to find your own host. I can help you if you need.

If you create a custom image, someone has to put it on a server so anyone on the internet can see it. It's called hosting.

As far as I know thats not the case. I like sigs cause they give me something to do when I'm bored. But yes they should be small images, which is where google images comes in, you can do a search for just small images. Thats where I got the helmets. It doesn't take a lot of time, but the more complicated ones like mine can take a while to get just right. I have about 12 web addresses in mine.

dbronco, I hate finals and jesus does too.
