Speaking as a cyclone fan stuck in central Nebraska:

So what if Texas calls the shots? They HAVE BEEN since 1996. Do we REALLY want to be like Saint Tom and cry because Texas has a bigger lasso?
So what if we have a tougher schedule? We ALWAYS get a tough, if not unfair conference schedule.
So what if we dont get 17-20 million per year? Even at 10 to 12 mil, or 9-10 mil, that is a big increase for a school like ISU, and a HUGE increase over what the Big East/MWC/C-USA/MAC could ever offer.
So what if this only lasts for 2-3 years? With the increased revenue we can upgrade facilities like locker rooms, weight rooms, etc. With the extra TV coverage, we get more face time. We can also pay our successful coaches more cabbage. This ALL adds up to (potentially) better recruiting. The onus is still on us, but this only helps....
So what if we end up getting the schnitzel from Texas. What else is new?

Right now, if the Big 12 dissolved, we would be beggars, with a good chance of moving down a notch or two. As of now, we are in a BSC conference, with (probably) increased revenue and increased national exposure. It all adds up to more bowl game/tournament invites in the future; or at least, a better chance of being "choosers" if the conference eventually dissolves.

GO CYCLONES! And GO DONORS!!!

BTW - I can't wait to see the Big 10 officials add seconds to clocks, call phantom personal fouls, and afford rather wide end zones to traditional Big 10 teams when playing Nebraska. Buy some extra boxes of tissues, Dr. Tom.....
