Also things to consider are remakes

I know this blasphemy to most on here but I enjoy newer Longest Yard more than the original.

Also what about a franchise like Rocky. Some could make a case a couple of Rocky movies could make a top 64 sports movie list.

Rocky 1 is the best in the series, but I would say Rocky 4 had a lot of cultural significance at the time due to the Cold War. I would just include those two.

Trouble with the curve underrated BB movie with Clint Eastwood
Slapshot is a great hockey movie but if it goes up against Miracle on Ice Ugh what a rough pic.
Hoosier easily best BB movie but the Fish who saved Pittsburgh was campy fun if I remember right
Breaking Away is a bicycle race movie that isn't terrible
Man I'm glad I'm not on this committee it'll be a tough one.
