Redoing the fields, drainage and lights. Need more room for itramural sports and the lights allows them to go till 10pm or so. There is another thread with more information but that the gist of it

Doing more than moving dirt. It seems that they put in a whole new set of poles and lighting.

2.6 million for better drainage and lighting on an intramural field? Didn't the state just slash ISU's budget? Dumb.

Not quite how the system works. Each Department/College gets their budget and can do as they please. Athletics and Rec Services, are their own department as can do projects as they see fit. Athletics is self-sustaining and I believe Recreation Services is too, after a change a few years ago.

The score boards for each field is a nice addition.

It will also help when Ames/ISU bid on future summer sporting events, and when they host the regular ones (Special Olympics, Iowa Games, etc.).
