Anna played against Griner two times while in HS during the summers for a total of nine games against her. One of those games, she scored 17, I believe.

And there are only 12 teams. It's very difficult to make a roster anymore.

Indeed. For example, Seattle had 18 players on their original camp roster:
7 returners -- Bird, Little, Jackson, Thompson, Stricklen, Wright, Clark
3 draft picks -- Hawkins, Poppens, James
3 veteran free agents -- Johnson, Quinn, Sanford
5 rookie/first-year free agents -- Bravard, Hampton, MacKay, Redmon, Shegog

Even when you make the roster, it's hard to stick for more than a year. What ISU players have played in the league for more than a year? I think Brit Wilkins did, and maybe Stacy Frese.

Plus with the pressure of getting "instant success", it's hard for rookies to get a place in a team and play consistently if you're not a first rounder. Even Lacey didn't play a lot in her lone season as she was behind Sue Bird and Svetlanta Abrosimova.
