    I just got tickets!

    I'd completely given up on finding tickets to the game. The girlfriend and I were disappointed, but couldn't justify spending $350 on 3 hours of football. My dad works for the UI, and people in his department pretty routinely sell event tickets to each other well below face value.

    I was walking home, in the rain, after a REALLY crappy day of classes, when my dad texts me and says he got me two tickets to the game for $80 total. I come home and read the email from him: Section 124, Row 30! We are SMACK in the middle of Iowa's big-time-donor faculty section, and right next to the Iowa students! We even get chairbacks in the deal, not that we'll be sitting down! I am absolutely ecstatic. So, if you see a couple of crazy kids decked out in good old cardinal and gold in the middle of the "blackout" blue-hairs, come say hi!

    I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

    My sister just got 4 free tickets from her boss, so I'm getting in the car and driving 400 miles tonight to Ames to meet her and leaving for IC in the morning - so much for a romantic, relaxing weekend with the girlfriend!
